It appears that three is most definitely the magic number for everybody’s favourite Swedish popstar, Robyn. Having been bombarded with countless editions of her career rejuvenating 2005 self-titled album and multiple re-released singles, the patience of her stalwart fans will be rewarded with not one, not even two, but three new albums set for release in the next twelve months. And we thought Laura Marling was being ambitious!
Speaking in a new interview with Swedish magazine Bon, Robyn claims to be taking more of a “dance oriented” approach to the new tracks, among which will feature, believe it or not, a ‘duet’ with Snoop Dogg and ‘None Of Dem’, an apparently Timbaland-esque song produced by Röyksopp. Then there’s the Diplo-produced ‘Dance Hall Queen’, which leaked last month under the name of ‘No Hassle’, and ‘Fembot’, a song about “30-year-old women who want to get pregnant”.
Previous collaborators Kleerup and Teddybears’ Klas Åhlund are also involved. Watch this space.
