Island Records are set to cash in on the buzz surrounding the newly reformed Cranberries with the release of Bualadh Bos (pronounced “boola bahs”), a compilation of live tracks recorded between 1994 and 1998 at various gigs and festivals. Spanning material from the band’s first four albums, with the majority originating from multi-million sellers Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? (1993) and No Need To Argue (1994), the album takes its name from the Gaelic translation of ‘clap your hands’ and is surprisingly the band’s first ever live audio release (a couple of live DVDs have been issued previously). That it appears to have been put together without the band’s involvement or consent, packaged by someone who evidently fails at graphic design, and consists mainly of already available B-sides, doesn’t seem to have discouraged The Cranberries from supporting the release. It’s already available on the US iTunes store, and will be out on CD on January 5.

After wrapping up the sold-out US leg of their reunion world tour in Seattle on December 7, the band will travel throughout South America in January and February before finally hitting Europe in March. Their only scheduled UK show is at the Royal Albert Hall on March 31.
