If you haven’t encountered the delightfully retro wonder of Bandstand Busking yet, then this Sunday is a fine time to make your acquaintance as the lovely Peggy Sue trio will be taking bravely to the open air of Northampton Square in Islington for the first show of the autumn season. Katy, Rosa and Olly will play a half-hour set from 3pm, followed by fellow Brighton-based act Sons Of Noel & Adrian at 3:30pm, and it’s a recession-friendly zero pounds. Last month’s busk at Arnold Circus in Shoreditch starred Micachu & The Shapes, First Aid Kit, David Thomas Broughton and Treetop Flyers and the videos from that will be made available on bandstandbusking.com soon. Previous shows from the lies of Theoretical Girl, Slow Club, Wildbirds & Peacedrums and Alessi’s Ark are already available.

Bandstand Busking events typically take place on the first Sunday of every month, but your best bet is to sign up to the newsletter on their website to make sure you don’t miss out.
