Since her more outward looking eighth solo album, I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day, came out in March, we’ve been wondering when Julie Doiron was going to bring her not-quite-so-sadcore-anymore self over to the UK and fill our hearts with shadowy delirium all over again. Well, finally, she’s on her way. Starting in Leicester on September 23rd, Julie and her band embark on a 7-date tour that winds up a week later at The Luminaire in London. She’ll also be putting in an appearance at Pure Groove, purveyors of the city’s best instore gig experience. Tickets range from £6 (Cardiff) to £10 (Newcastle, Edinburgh); see Julie’s Myspace for more info on times etc.

In other Julie news, a shop in the town of Bruno, Saskatchewan in Canada has declared June 7th to be Julie Doiron Day, for reasons we’re not quite sure of, other than that she is awesome. And not content with a whole day, they put her name on a plaque on a bench outside the store. Watch the unveiling here.
