030909_bushtreemeSecond album to finally see the light of day

We thought that they’d gone to the great big garden in the sky, but The Bush The Tree & Me have just announced that they are to re-emerge from the undergrowth with their long-delayed second album Mouthful Of Bees. It’s been 8 long years since they issued their Stephen Street-produced debut, How To Get Home, through Epic Records, with such excellent singles as ‘(Sometimes) You Do That’ and the brilliant No Buses EP, but this once well-loved band should have no problem enticing old fans back for a special reunion performance at London’s Dingwalls on September 23rd. Especially as all profits from the show will be donated to UK charity Sands, which supports parents who experience the trauma of stillbirth and neonatal deaths, as well as funding research and improving care facilities. This one-off gig will mark the band’s 20th year performing together, so expect plenty of emotion.

Produced by Nick Terry (The Libertines), Mouthful Of Bees is described as “edgy, emotional, mature and more electronic”. There’s a few tracks not from How To Get Home currently streaming over at the band’s Myspace – ‘Monsters’, ‘Made Of Paper’, ‘Seven’ and ‘No. 41’. We’re not sure if these are on the new album or not, but watch this space for more info soon.

Tickets for the gig are now available here, priced £12.

I am SO! looking forward to this gig – got my ticket weeks ago. These girls are great (and Jimi’s not bad either!).
