nat johnson announces debut album

Covers Beach Boys on new single

A year on from the release of her debut solo single, ‘Dirty Rotten Soul’, former Monkey Swallows The Universe frontwoman Nat Johnson is to release a full-length album, Roman Radio, with her new backing band The Figureheads. Teaming up with fellow MSTU alum Kevin Gori on guitar, Chris Loftus on bass and Neil Piper on drums, Nat has been playing gigs all over the place while working up the 13 songs that make up the album. As befits the bluesy swagger of ‘Dirty Rotten Soul’, the band have signed to UK label Damaged Goods (home of the mighty Holly Golightly), who release the album on October 19th on CD, vinyl and digital download. New single ‘Wonderful Emergency’ will be out a fortnight earlier, and comes backed with a cover of the Beach Boys classic ‘Don’t Worry Baby’.
