Tidings from Scandinavian retro-rock ‘n’ rollers Sharin Foo and Sune Rose Wagner, aka The Raveonettes. The prolific duo recently revealed the tracklist and release date for their fourth studio album, In & Out Of Control, which marks their return to the full-length format after last year’s series of four EPs. Wrapped up in 3 months during a stay in their native Denmark, with the steady hands of DFA and Junior Senior producer Thomas Troelson handling production, the album is set for release on October 6th through Vice and Panda Records. The short production period and mentions of a poppier direction were intentionally in contrast with material for their previous album Lust Lust Lust, which took two years to write and was, according to Sune “the darkest record we ever made”. While they claim a lighter sound should be expected, the track titles imply anything but. Have they seriously written a song called ‘Boys Who Rape (Should Be Destroyed)’? Yes. Yes they have. The first single will the comparatively uncontroversial ‘Last Dance’. Watch out for the Matthew Lessner-directed video, coming soon.
