250409_doloresDolores O’Riordan cancels solo dates, hints at possible reunion

Less than one month after the announcement of her 2009 North American tour, Dolores O’Riordan has slashed all 13 of her upcoming solo shows. The former Cranberries frontwoman had booked a string of dates between September and October to promote her upcoming second album No Baggage [review], out on August 24th. No official reason was given for the cancellation, but the following message, posted on O’Riordan’s website, has tantalised fans with implied hints of a Cranberries reunion: “At this time, Dolores expresses her very sincere apologies, but has asked us to relay to all of you that with change…what was old, just may become new again. Stay tuned for further special announcements.”

Sad times for ticket holders, but the unofficial, winking hint of a reunion should be happy news for faithful fans of the Irish rockers. The Cranberries last performed together in December 2002, and have been on hiatus since 2003.
