‘When You Find Me’

Lifted from the soundtrack to Fox Searchlight’s new romantic comedy ‘Adam’, ‘When You Find Me’ finds Maria Taylor guesting on a Joshua Radin-penned track that’s heavy on the sap but just about bypasses cheesiness with some dramatic (if hardly unconventional) cello work and sweetly clunky piano. Released in the US this week, the Max Mayer-directed film stars Hugh Dancy as a man with Asperger’s syndrome who becomes romantically entangled with his upstairs neighbour Beth (played by Rose Byrne). It was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and won two other awards, and despited receiving mixed reviews in the US press, will probably go on to be a staple of the major awards season when it finally rolls around.

‘When You Find Me’ taps into the film’s central theme of overcoming obstacles on a voyage of discovery (of self as much as of others) and takes no risks. Maria’s voice is as sweet as ever, and the two blend nicely. Er, that’s probably all there is to say about it. Pleasant MP3 after the jump.

The ‘Adam’ soundtrack also features The Weepies, Lucy Schwartz and Miranda Lee Richards.
