270509_slowclubString of festival dates confirmed

Making good on the promise of last year’s cracking EP, Let’s Fall Back In Love, the wonderful Slow Club will release their debut album Yeah So on July 6th through Moshi Moshi Records. Mostly recorded in their hometown of Sheffield, with a couple of sessions in London and Dublin, the album’s 13 tracks are a mix of old and new, taking in the almost quintessential Slow Club stylings of ‘Because We’re Dead’ and ‘Dance ‘Til The Morning Light’, antifolk epics ‘Giving Up On Love’ and ‘Our Most Brilliant Friends’ and idiosyncratic ballads like ‘When I Go’ and ‘Boys On Their Birthdays’. Charles and Rebecca are joined on the album by David Glover on various instruments and backing vocals, plus Brian O’Murchu (drums) and Jamie Morrison (glass bottle) on the final track.

Produced by Mike Timm (Pulp, Richard Hawley), Yeah So is preceded by new 7″/digital single ‘It Doesn’t Have To Be Beautiful’, out June 22nd with the exclusive B-side ‘Wild Blue Milk’ – in our opinion, one of the duo’s best songs! They will celebrate the release with a launch party at London’s ICA the same day and they’ve got a number of festival dates lined up all summer (Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, Latitude – full list below). A full tour is expected in September, but only one date has been confirmed so far – at London’s Scala on September 24th.
