190509_nellbrydenShort UK trek starts next week

Darling of BBC Radio 2 Nell Bryden has teamed up with three other women who share the same PR company for the ‘Lipstick & Guitar Tour’, a six-date UK jaunt starting next Tuesday (May 26th) at Ginglik in London’s Shepherds Bush. Joining Nell will be the lovely Kat Flint (whose debut album Dirty Birds made our readers’ best of 2008 poll), Lana, and Gabby Young & Other Animals, who stepped in at the last minute to replace Voice On The Verge alumna Lizzyspit.

Bryden is in the country to promote her latest album What Does It Take?, her second release of 2009 following February’s Live From Iraq, the At Folsom Prison-inspired document of her unprecedented performances for the coalition troops serving Kuwait and Iraq in October 2008. The entirely self-penned What Does It Take? was release digitally in April and will get a formal physical release in August. She’ll be doing a full tour of Ireland over the summer, too, so check her Myspace for those. As for her Lipstick partners, Gabby Young & Other Animals recently completed their new album We’re All In This Together, out later this year, while Kat Flint is rumoured to have a new single coming out in a month or two. Lana doesn’t seem to have anything specific pencilled in, but you can watch the video for her recent single ‘Trippy Kind Of Love’ below.

The Lipstick & Guitar Tour calls at the following venues:

26.05.09 Ginglik, London
27.05.09 The Maze, Nottingham
28.05.09 Blue Cat, Stockport
29.05.09 Factory, Sunderland
30.05.09 Marrs Bar, Birmingham
