080509_butterflyboucherLong-delayed new album out next month

After years of legal wranglings with her former label Geffen, Australian singer-songwriter Butterfly Boucher will release her second album Scary Fragile on June 1st through a licensing deal with Nettwerk Records. A fully mixed version of the album was reportedly delivered to Geffen by Butterfly and her co-producer David Kahne all the way back in January 2006. The first single, ‘A Bitter Song’, was featured in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in 2007 and subsequently released digitally through iTunes due to public demand. The first single proper from the album will be ‘Gun For A Tongue’, which hits iTunes next Tuesday (May 12th). On the subject of her label woes, Butterfly is surprisingly prosaic, saying “I found out I can only be who I am. I won’t try to describe the relief.” You can listen to ‘For The Love Of Love’, ‘Gun For A Tongue’ and ‘Scary Fragile’ over on her Myspace now, and watch the video for ‘A Bitter Song’ below.

I’m so excited that Butterfly Boucher’s new album comes out today! I can’t wait to get a copy of it! I love the new single “Gun for a Tounge” and I’m sure the rest of the album is just as amazing!
