150409_shelleyanorphanThe comeback continues

After 16 years of almost total silence, cult duo Shelleyan Orphan emerged blinking into the ‘new’ millennium late last year with their fourth album We Have Everything We Need, an elegantly modernised take on their characteristically grandiose chamber-folk. Infused with a more contemporary pop feel, it was a welcome return for the once-dubbed “Pre-Raphaelite fruitcakes”.

Having played only a select few live dates since the album’s release – most notably as part of this year’s stellar Celtic Connections lineup – Caroline and Jem are due to grace the cosy basement of The Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell tomorrow night and you can win a pair of tickets courtesy of our kindhearted friends at One Little Indian. The winner will also receive a copy of the album, as will two runners-up. Get in!

All you have to do is answer this simple Wikipediable question: What was Shelleyan Orphan’s debut album called?

Send your answer to editor@wearsthetrousers.com by 11am tomorrow and we’ll notify you if you’ve won by noon and put you on the guestlist.
